Hello, everyone! First off, I'd like to thank Renaissance Pagan for linking this forum on Tumblr. This is exactly the kind of forum I've been looking for, thank you so much!
Anyway, I'm 21, I'm a lesbian, and I currently live in Salt Lake City, UT. Although in the near future I may be moving in with my fathers in California. I'm a student of art and animation, although I had to drop out of my community college because of troubles paying off the tuition. Whether or not I move to Cali or stay in Salt Lake, I hope to be able to return to college soon. I'm not sure exactly what it is I want to do for a career; I've thought about movie animator, concept artist, storyboard artist, or even children's book illustrator. Who knows.
I was brought up Mormon, but I've thought about converting to a Pagan path ever since I was 16 or 17. I skimmed through a small handful of books for a while, but I finally got serious about it back in September. Originally I was studying into Wicca, but very quickly my path switched over to Hellenic paganism when I welcomed Aphrodite into my life as my patron goddess (Within a month of studying, too! I consider myself very lucky to have been claimed by my Goddess so quickly.)
It's been hard, because I'm never quite sure of myself and I have small periods of inactivity, but I honestly try to actively practice my craft, and I think Aphrodite doesn't mind me taking it slow too much. I tried a dedication ritual a while back, I've been practicing on meditation, and I've started taking afternoon walks through nature (not just for the spiritual aspect, but for the health aspect as well. ) I'm still in the "broom closet" with most of my family, except for one cousin who is still Mormon herself but has been very accepting and loving.
For a couple of months now, I've been wanting to try sea witchery, since I've always felt a strong connection to water element, but it's kind of tough when you live in a big city in a landlocked state. So, for now, I've been reading up on cottage/garden witchery and I'm going to try my hand at them very soon. (I still consider myself a newbie for the most part, seeing as how I've only been at this for six months.)
I'm excited to get to know you and learn from you all!
