Hello there all, I'm Daisy and I'll be turning 16 in just over a week. Some of you might know me from my tumblr blog, witch-in-waiting. I don't usually use forums such as these or talk about my path very much at all but I thought I'd give it a shot, so please bear with me if I'm a little awkward!
I live in the Southwest of Wales although my parents are English, and my house is surrounded by our land filled with forests and streams. Growing up here, in the land of Merlin, you can kind of guess why I became connected with nature and legends, although I don't consider myself very Welsh. My family business is an antique bookshop, the stock of which overflows into my house so of course I've always had lots of material to feed my curiosity.
My path really started off with a love of history all my childhood, nature, plant uses, and of course faeries. You can often spot a will-o-the-wisp around by my river. For a long time I held many beliefs about the fae, spirits and many folktales and was also knowledgeable about the uses of plants in medicine and folklore thanks to my mother but I never knew that there was a whole community of people who are like-minded until about 3 years ago when I became a pagan.
At first I took on the label of 'Wiccan' as it was the most broadly known craft but eventually I found it didn't suit me so I'm currently exploring my beliefs as an eclectic pagan. If I had to put a label on my craft at this time I'd say something close to a green or traditional witch. I'm interested in the fae, arthurian legends, historic witchcraft, and both the celtic and norse pantheons.
My other interests include art (especially painting with watercolour), historical clothing and re enactments, burlesque and pinup, anime, perfumery and herbalism, gothic fashion, reading everything I can get my hands on, PC gaming, archaeology, fossil-hunting and feminism.
My favourite books are The Lord Of The Rings, The Hobbit, Anything from the Discworld series, Animal Farm, The War of the Worlds, the Day of the Triffids, Beowulf, The Inheritance Cycle, His Dark Materials, The Once And Future King, Redwall.
My music tastes span pretty much everything from Beyonce to Finntroll but I particularly like Inkubus Sukkubus, Eluveitie, Emilie Autumn, the Mediaeval Baebes, Wine and Alchemy, Faun, anything baroque/medieval and Perfume. (Not embarrassed at listening to jpop at all)
Sorry if this is too long but hey might as well see if anyone else here shares my interests <3
