Hello everyone owo

My name is Marissa, I am a very shy person and this is my first time joining a forum and putting myself into the community. So, please be patient with me! I actually found this through tumblr by my blog of the same username :3

I'm currently finishing up my first year of community college and I am studying digital art. Obviously, I really love to draw and discuss art, any kind of art really! I have a fondness for animals and cartoons, cute things in general. I want to try and eventually go to university for a character design degree, or something like it. I live in Arizona, close to the big cities, though I really wish to travel and live closer to the ocean. I love the water and feel an affinity for it but sadly I don't get much here :c


Um, let's see...I was brought up in a very Mormon family, went to church every week till I was about 10. It was at that time I realized that it just wasn't for me, and I was only going because my family did. Well, we eventually stopped going and there was a time where I wasn't on a path of any kind, I was just kinda going through the motions. Focusing on school, family problems, mental issues, ect. There wasn't much I was looking for. It's only very recently that I've been studying paganism, which I found through an interest in witchcraft.

I'll just say it now, I'm basically a brand new baby to this very diverse world QAQ

I can get overwhelmed, and maybe a little discouraged, but I'm so very close to finding what fits for me after researching for a couple months now. I feel that Hellenic Polytheism is for me, but haven't actually, er...started? I'm trying to learn tarot as well, as I hope that will help. I just really hope I'm not a lost cause, haha...And with my family, I can't exactly come out to them, so any sort of practice will be limited to me.

I also want to try cottage witchery (or any kind of witchcraft at this point), since I want to make a happy, healthy, and protected home life for my loved ones and future family and to be able to help myself UuU

Anyways, I hope to grow and learn from you all, everyone seems very nice. I hope you don't mind me here <3

Welcome to the forum, Marissa!

Don't worry, we all start in the same place as a newbie to our crafts. Getting overwhelmed and discouraged is normal, and happens to everyone from time to time. Sometimes you need to throw your hands up and say "NOPE" for a short period of time before you feel you can approach your roadblocks again with a fresh mind. There's no such thing as a lost cause, in my humble opinion.

I hope you'll feel comfortable asking questions and sharing your journey with us. We're all happy to help you out and give encouragement if you need it!

Welcome dear! Trust me, I don't ever think there will ever be a point where you believe you know everything there is to know about a path like this. I know I don't! The roots are so deep within this type of religion that there is always something new to learn, so you might feel like a beginner for a long time but it's perfectly normal!
